Guide: Vlogging Cameras

How to Choose a Vlogging Camera There are a lot of people out there wanting to start their own channel or want to start making videos on Youtube. The problem is that many people don’t know what kind of cameras they should get.

Many new users will go out and just buy any ol’ camcorder, but if you actually want quality video, you have to learn about more than just megapixels.

If you have no clue what kind of camera should you be looking for, well then let me tell you that there are three major things that should determine your choice of vlogging camera: Price:

Look at what’s available in your price range—it might surprise you how expensive things can get if your budget is high enough! What To Look For in A Vlogging Camera With a Flip Screen.

Sony’s line of Handycam camcorders has evolved since its initial release, adding innovative features that improve its overall design and make it more compact and lightweight.

By selecting one of these models, you won’t need to worry about having to buy a separate microphone or audio recorder. And if you want extra security for your camera when you travel, consider getting a model with built-in WiFi capabilities.

What do you want in your camera?

Deciding what you want your new camera to do is essential to finding one that’s right for you. Do you want it to have a big zoom lens so you can take photos from far away? Would you like it to be able to shoot in different settings, such as underwater or at night?

Is a large storage capacity important, so there’s room for hours of footage and pictures? What kind of battery life do you need so you don’t run out of juice in the middle of filming? Figuring out what specs are important to you—and then finding a model that meets them—is key when choosing any tech product.

Many people want to do video blogging on their YouTube channel, but don’t know what kind of camera to use. This guide will help you choose what’s best for your budget and needs.

In general, point-and-shoot cameras are not good for shooting videos because they lack the advanced features needed to produce high-quality content.

Key Features

Before you can buy the best vlogging camera, first you have to think about what features are most important to you. If you’re planning on doing high-end work, then it may be worth investing in a more expensive model;

If budget is an issue and your main focus is producing great content for social media, there are still several viable options for less than $1,000. You’ll also want to figure out what size of camera fits your needs.

Most small cameras fit in a pocket or purse and allow for discreet filming—meaning people around won’t notice you’re recording—but aren't really good for shooting action shots or footage from far away.

The Canon PowerShot G7 X is a compact, all-around great camera, but it excels in one particular way: it's articulating touchscreen LCD lets you frame and shoot from any angle—including at waist level. But if you want a great video on-the-go experience without breaking your budget, get Sony’s DSC RX100 II.

1. Sony A5100

If you're just starting out, it might seem like an impossible task to capture high-quality video while remaining under a $1,000 budget. But there are plenty of affordable options that can be ideal for capturing vlogs or other types of videos.

One of our favorites is Sony's A5100 Mirrorless Camera, which costs less than $500 (depending on where you shop). With its 28-100mm lens and Exmor APS HD CMOS sensor, it produces 4K images and HD 1080p video with detail in both low-light and well-lit scenes.

It also has a 2.35M dot XGA OLED Tru-Finder viewfinder that lets you compose clear images even when lighting is poor. The Sony A5100 is one of our favorite mirrorless cameras because it offers excellent image quality and a 24.3MP APS-C sensor.

And fast autofocus performance—and can record video in Full HD. Add in a tiltable touchscreen display for easy operation, and you have an incredibly capable shooter that’s great for amateur and experienced videographers alike.

It also has an impressive maximum ISO of 25600, which should be high enough to capture clear footage even in low light. The Sony A5100 is a relatively new model (released in 2015) that has already proven to be one of our favorite cameras for making videos.

The video quality is great and it has a very convenient flip screen that can come in handy while shooting videos. There are better vlogging cameras out there.

But they are usually much more expensive than these two models. This can make a big difference if you’re just starting out and don’t have any extra funds to spend on equipment.

While built-in Wi-Fi allows you to upload your creations in an instant. Just keep in mind that it’s best suited to those who need DSLR performance but want something they can easily slip into their pockets when they’re out and about.
